Steve/Hazel/Michael:
I'm very sorry to announce that we'll be unable to get down to St. Marys for the planned raft-up on June 17th. A big project at work has taken an unexpected turn and I'll be chained to my computer until at least Thursday June 15th. Darlene, Maggie, and I are very bummed out; this was to be our big trip of the season. I hope this does not muck up your plans also.
I'm hoping that we can still salvage at least a long weekend sail starting Friday the 16th. If any of you are still going to be within a day's sail of Annapolis that weekend, let's keep in touch; otherwise, enjoy the trip south and keep us posted on your travels.

Dayton:

Due to time off work constraints, I, too, will not be able to make the St. Mary’s raftup.  It’s just too far for a two day trip and I’m really bum’d.  But, I will be sailing in the Annapolis area that weekend, and depending on your itinerary maybe we can hook up.

Maybe there are others in the Annapolis area who also might be interested in a closer to home impromptu gathering???  Maybe the Wye river of someplace thereabouts?

SOOO Aspiring Rafter-Uppers----

The question from Traveler and her crew is - who IS , as of this writing
planning on coming to the St. Mary's raft-up? RSVP, please.

We would like to venture down there and don't have the employment
constraints (notice I said employment, not "work") - but if it turns
out that no one is coming to it, and this will be the farthest we've
had Traveler out of her slip and the longest trip since Labor Day 2004,
it will be something of a shakedown. We're still not 100% certain all
the bugs will be worked out, but let's say, without too much risk of
jinxing our plans, we're 97% certain she be will ready. My best friend
and dive buddy is taking a vacation day to come along that weekend -
wherever we wind up.

So if St. Mary's is a no show, we'll most probably be able to make and
definitely up for a "more local" raft up. Coleman got the compass swung
- first pass at it yesterday. It may get reinstalled on the pedestal
today. Shifting problem seems to have righted itself with the new cable.
Coleman has been "neaterizing" the 12v wiring in the engine room - many
old useless wires have disappears, others are correctly attached to a
solid object..all kinds of "little stuff" that's pretty import is
getting finished up. Wow - it's nice to have our biggest surprise be a
broken bolt!

If all you've discovered is a broken bolt, you're not trying hard enough.

I have family commitments just prior to the dates mentioned (the final issue
attains graduate status) so getting there would be a significant
undertaking. As I recall, the Gov's Cup, from Annapolis to St. Mary's
starts at 6ish in the evening (or perhaps earlier) and the leaders reach the
finish in the wee hours (not the Tayana fleet) the next day. Ugly memories
of mimosas at sunrise lead me to believe this trek is probably better
undertaken in two days time. Ergo, unless a more local locale is specified,
I won't be there to share in the laudatory bon homie of my fellow TOG'ers.

Dear All,

Hazel & I on Oasis can make anywhere in the Bay. We plan to set sail this coming weekend 10/11 June from Deale (Heering Bay) for two weeks. We have no plans other than sail where the wind takes us, do a few jobs and stay away from people - other than Tayana owners of course! If we have a plan on-line tomorrow we can pick it up and will make the RV, failing that we will be on VHF/SSB only. Either St Mary's or something more local to Galesville/Annapolis area would be fine. Look forward to meeting you all.

Please contact me off list (tadmcd@att.net (tadmcd@att.net)) if you are willing to establish a brief sked on SSB.  I’m over in oxford right now and I want to check out my new grounding system (counterpoise).  Without a license, it’s tough to get a “radio check.”

Thanks,

We can check you on Channel 19 (or another you prefer) perhaps once we
know exactly, more or less, : )
what we're doing?

I hereby nominate the Wye River as the new raft-up location. We spent the better part of a week there last spring and had a great time--many beautiful anchorages, and lots of great hiking ashore. There are also several places to take on shore-based crew, and St. Michaels is just a short hop away. Do I hear a second?

Dayton, Sandra,

Wye River sounds good for us as we have not been there. I'll make sure we have Channel 19 on at 2000hrs each evening should you need to make contact.

<?xml:namespace prefix="v" /><?xml:namespace prefix="o" /><![endif]--> Dayton:  Do you plan to be there just Saturday and Sunday, or will you stay into the next week?  We will be returning from Richmond Saturday evening and maybe could get out on Sunday or Monday depending when we get back.

Dick:
We're hoping to stay overnight on Sunday also and sail back on Monday, but I won't know for sure if I can get Monday off until later in the week. Sandra, Coleman, Michael, Tad: what are your plans for Sunday and Monday?
