the combination of davits and windvanes was the reason I selected the cap horn windvane for my T37. I saw a picture on the cap horn website of a T37 with both the cap horn and davits. The dink could be in the davits and the vane still functional.

I would imagine the davit problem would be pretty much the same on a 42 as it is on the T37. The double ended stern does not give you much to attach them to.

I think I can get davits on my boat if I use the radar arch as part of the support. The original davit design used on the T37 could not be folded up when you were not using them. At current slip rates in California Im not too shot with the idea of paying for stuff hanging off the stern.

I Jerome in V42 Pilgrim has davits installed on his boat but I don't remember the specifics. He may respond to your post since I know he monitors the TOG site.

Look at wellsmarine.com Takes up a lot of room but looks like it includes everything as well as davits.

You can install davits with a Fleming windvane and with the Cap Horn windvane. For an example of each, check the TOGNews FTP site.

Mike W. and Barbara Emmons have a Fleming with davits. The Fleming can be installed as close to the stern as the Cap Horn. For additional details, see the PDF file I posted on installing a Fleming on a Tayana 37.

I don't know about installations on a Tayana 42, but the same system should work as well.
regards,
Harvey
